Within this history, South African designers engage with the past, breathing a new narrative into contemporary fashion. These photographs capture this merging of histories in garments that honour the complex process behind our clothes and celebrate natural fibres, set against the backdrop of colonial architecture of the Dwarsvlei residence. But beyond the celebration of wool, these photographs are a testament to how designers can work through and against history.
